Young Writers Retreat

This two-week summer program for rising high school juniors and seniors helps students improve their writing skills for college. Participants will craft standout essays, enhance creativity, and build strong resumes through workshops with writers and industry professionals, while exploring Washington D.C.'s literary scene. The program aims to strengthen writing skills and support a smooth transition to college.

Script & Story Workshop

The Script & Story Workshop is a summer program for high schoolers to explore TV, film, and playwriting while sharpening their storytelling skills. Through hands-on workshops led by industry professionals, students will learn scriptwriting, storyboarding, character development, and plot crafting. They’ll also explore Washington, D.C., visiting theaters and iconic landmarks. By the end, students will have a portfolio of work and get to see their scripts come to life!

Get Your Game On: Intro to 3D Modeling and Animation

A dynamic two-week summer arts camp in Washington, DC, where young artists will dive into gaming design, explore iconic museums, engage with guest artist lectures, and develop a strong portfolio showcasing their diverse talents. Engineering Summer Programs

Calling all future engineers! We are excited to offer two engineering summer institutes: the Engineering New Frontiers Institute, which offers content in each of the engineering disciplines; and the Computational Biosciences Institute.

Nursing Pre-College Program

The Conway School of Nursing Camp is a one-week program, designed to aid students in understanding the essence of nursing practice and explore nursing as a career and profession. This educational experience will incorporate “learning by doing,” and students will practice selected technical skills in the school’s lab and simulation center.

Architecture Summer Program

The Experiences in Architecture program at University is an intense three-week, pre-college workshop for students interested in architecture or other design-related fields.

Catholic University's High School Drama Institute is a residential program for students who wish to pursue intensive summer training in the performing arts. Study voice, movement, and acting with experts in the field!

Dual Enrollment For Eligible High School Students

Catholic Universityoffers dual enrollment courses to eligible high school students, allowing students to earn Catholic Universitycredits before the official start of their undergraduate studies. Availability will be determined after the University’s students complete their registration process.

Catholic Universityoffers dual enrollment courses to eligible high school students, allowing students to earn Catholic Universitycredits before the official start of their undergraduate studies. Students are limited to two courses (six credits) in any term.

The cost is $225 per credit (3-credit courses will cost $675) and all courses will be taught online. These are regular sections of Catholic Universityclasses and space is limited. Availability will be determined after the University’s students complete their registration process.

Students interested in applying for Dual Enrollment classes must complete the and submit a current high school transcript including the most recent grades from the first three years of high school and the academic schedule for the senior year. Students must be on track to complete their junior year of high school to be eligible to enroll. Applicants are encouraged to provide first-, second-, and third-choice classes, and to indicate whether they wish to take one class or two. Registration approvals will take place on a rolling basis, based on course availability, until the start of each term. There is no application fee.

Summer sessions have various term lengths. The first term begins on May 10 and the final term ends on August 17.
